Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Communities.
Try these steps and check if this works for you:
From NVIDIA Control Panel select3D Settings then select Manage 3D Settingsin the tab Preferred Graphics Processor, selectHigh performance NVidia processor.
Select Okay to apply changes.
Reboot and computer and then try playing the game and see if this works for you.
Do update us about the status of issue.

First of all thanks for your reply.
Yes as I mentioned above I've done that.
Also reinstalled Nvidia Control Panel and the latest drivers and I'm still having the problem.
In some games it is possible to see what graphics card i'm using, and it keeps saying Intel instead of Nvidia.
in other games which is not possible to see which one I am using, I have horrible performance.
Please note I started having this problem after I upgraded to windows 8.1, previously with 7 I had no problems.

I see a problem. (check your serial number on your computer.... mumble mumble *cough cough* if that was what you used to have maybe someone swapped your laptop with an exact model with the intel express 4 chipset.... mumble mumble..)

I guess there's something that needs to be changed in the BIOS of your computer. Let's try that !
Power ON the computer | laptop | PC and then try getting into the BIOS settings. Once you're in there, disable the integrated graphics and set PCIE graphics. Save the settings and exit
Let the computer boot up and try playing those games which were giving you awful graphics. I expect that makes your gaming experience awesome !

Which serial number Roy? The windows serial number, or the Toshiba laptop serial? how can it be helpful?
Not sure what you mean by the mumbles, I have everything original with recipes and it does cost a lot of money here in eastern Europe.
Ali, yes I've checked and updated latest Bios for this laptop, according to Toshiba website latest SW was released in 2012 tough.
On the BIOS itself there is no field which i can change the graphics card,
Is there any other customized BIOS which i should use?
Also tried playing around with the power management settings both in BIOS and in windows but nothing worked.

Thanks for the response.
Since you're having Intel Integrated Graphics and NVidia Graphics as well I'd try giving another suggestion that might be of some use. Here it is.
Press Windows key + R, type devmgmt click OK. You'll be in the Device Manager window. From the list of display adapters, select the Intel HD Graphics; right click on it and choose Uninstall and then reboot the computer.
Make sure you don't uninstall the NVidia Graphics and check if the system picks up the NVidia Graphics as default. If it does you don't need to install the Intel Integrated Graphics. If you want both then you may install the driver for Intel Graphics as well at a later stage.
I hope this might help a little bit. Hope the suggestion has some help to you.

Thanks for the tip Ali.
Unfortunately after unistalling Intel card and the drivers, after computer restarts the screen resolution is set to 1024x768 and i cannot change it, on control panel it shows Windows Basic Card (not sure if this is the exact translation to English) as the video card being used.
After some time, the resolution changed back to its normal, and Intel HD 3000 was automatically installed again.
This is really annoying, still thanks for the support.
Any other ideas?

This won't work because when the PC is rebooted Windows will detect the Intel display adapter and reinstall the driver. In most laptops with separate display adapters, the adapter that's used in any given circumstances will be controlled by the chipset (firmware) which is something that a user can't change. If you can't get the laptop to use the NVidia device at all, it's a hardware problem that needs to be taken up with the computer manufacturer.

As i mentioned previously this was working fine for years on Windows 7, so in my humble opinion it should not be a Hardware problem.
I can see Nvidia card on device manager, i just cannot to get it work anywhere.
I've updated lasted available BIOS for my model, however there is no field in which i can choose graphics card.
Should it worth a risk of using some "customized" bios found around the internet?
Any other tips?
